How to judge a mobile mechanic yourself
We do not publish reviews on this site. Instead, here is how to judge any provider before you let them work on your car.
Do your homework
How to check a mobile mechanic provider.
Ask about certification
Certification is voluntary in BC for automotive service technicians. SkilledTradesBC issues it, and Red Seal is the interprovincial endorsement. Ask what the provider holds and check it yourself.
Ask about insurance
Mobile work happens at your home or workplace. Ask whether the provider carries liability insurance and what it covers.
Get a written quote
A quote should list parts and labour and state any call-out or travel fee. Do not agree to open-ended work.
Check public reviews
Look at the provider's reviews on public sites and read the detailed ones. Look for how they handled problems.
Ask what happens if it cannot be fixed on site
A reputable provider tells you early if a job needs a shop, and explains the options and costs.
